Event: Silicon Valley Soap Box Derby

All-American Soap Box Derby rallies will be held this weekend, March 14 and 15, at Dana Street from the top of the 85 overpass to Calderon (115 W Dana St., Mountain View). Registration is 7-8 a.m., weigh-in and inspection 7:15-8:45 a.m., and racing starts promptly at 9:30 a.m. both days. Event: Yearly shredding event

Mountain View residents once again will get a chance to safely dispose of old tax returns, bank statements and medical records during a free city shredding event this Saturday, March 14., from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of St. Joseph Church, located at the corner of Castro and Church streets. Event: Mountain View Arbor Day Celebration

The city celebrates Arbor Day on Saturday, March 14, from 10:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. Festivities begin with a themed children’s reading presentation in the Mountain View Public Library, followed by Arbor Day activities including a tree planting ceremony.
