Art: Community School of Music and Arts and Alliance of Visual Artists presents Artfest in the Park
Over 150 California artists will sell their work during the Community School for Music & Arts benefit. Proceeds benefit the Mountain View CSMA. Local residents will be racing stock cars and super cars racing down the hill this Saturday during the annual Soap Box Derby. Winners will get a chance to compete in finals in Akron, Ohio in July. The Derby will run from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at 100 Dana Street. A concession stand will be open 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Free. Local author Gene Luen Yang will discuss his book, “The Eternal Smile,” which is illustrated by Derek Kirk Kim. The two graphic novelists illustrate the boundaries between fantasy and reality in three magical tales.
