Event: 38th annual Art & Wine Festival
Castro Street will be closed off Saturday and Sunday for downtown Mountain View’s 38th annual Art & Wine Festival, put on by the Chamber of Commerce. The event features the work of 600 artists and craftmakers, plus live music and a wide array of food and drink. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12 and Sunday, Sept. 13. Benefit: Midori Kai Boutique at the Mountain View Buddhist Temple
More than 60 vendors from throughout the Western United States and Hawaii are featured at this Asian-American arts and crafts boutique. Proceeds from the event go to various community organizations. Featuring a CD signing by contemporary jazz fusion band Hiroshima. Talk: Sally Lieber on “Changing California,” at Michael’s at Shoreline
Former state Assembly member and Mountain View mayor Sally Lieber will discuss initiatives to change the way California governs itself, including doing away with the two-thirds vote requirement for the state budget and putting together a California Constitutional Convention.
