Music: Twilight Concert Series

The City of Palo Alto’s annual Twilight Concert Series begins Saturday, July 2, with patriotic music by the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West. The outdoor concerts are free and happen weekly at 6:30 p.m. through Aug. 20; this Saturday’s concert is at Rinconada Park, 777 Embarcadero Road.

Music: ‘The Great American Songsmiths’

Singers Clairdee and Bobbe Norris join pianist Larry Dunlap and various guest artists on Sunday, July 3, at 2:30 p.m. for a Stanford Jazz Festival concert that pays tribute to American songwriters including Irving Berlin, Jerome Kern, Johnny Mercer and Cole Porter. The show is at Dinkelspiel Auditorium at Stanford University. Tickets are $28 general and $18 for students.

Music: San Francisco Symphony concert and fireworks

The San Francisco Symphony’s annual Fourth of July concert features patriotic songs and marches, capped by a fireworks display, on Monday, July 4, at Shoreline Amphitheatre, 1 Amphitheatre Pkwy, Mountain View. 8 p.m. Tickets are $19.50-$47.35.
