Chances are, if you live in Silicon Valley, you use software every day. The Computer History Museum’s new exhibit, “Make Software: Change the World!” features the history and technology behind seven software applications that have had a major impact on daily life: MRI, MP3, car-crash simulation, texting, Wikipedia, Photoshop, and World of Warcraft. Visitors to the 6,000-square-foot exhibition space will have the chance to Photoshop themselves in front of the Golden Gate Bridge, diagnose patients with MRI scans and learn more about how programming works. The exhibit opens Saturday, Jan. 28, and the museum (1401 N Shoreline Blvd., Mountain View) is open Wednesday-Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $13.50-$17.50 for adults; children under 10 get in free.
