Fall gets all the attention as the time of year to hit the books, but it’s hard to beat summer for more leisurely reading time. From library summer reading programs to finding a perfect beach read, summertime has always been a good time for books — to tackle that stack of books you haven’t had a chance to crack open during the rush of the rest of the year, or to discover a new favorite author who’s just released their latest work.

There are plenty of authors coming to the Peninsula this summer who might inspire that next read, share new ideas or even offer the creative spark to get writing on your own. Here’s a look at who will be coming to area bookstores over the summer.
