Del Seymour overcame 18 years of addiction and homelessness to become an advocate and mentor for others going through similar struggles in San Francisco’s tough Tenderloin neighborhood. The organization he founded, Code Tenderloin, helps marginalized people get on the path to economic stability, regardless of their background.

Seymour’s journey is chronicled in San Francisco journalist and author Alison Owings’ “Mayor of the Tenderloin” and both Seymour and Owings will be at Books Inc. in Palo Alto on Sept. 17 to celebrate the new book.
