Tab Benoit
Louisiana blues musician Tab Benoit has been a part of the roots music world for more than three decades, known for a soulful voice that’s drawn comparisons to Otis Redding and a distinctive guitar style, according to his website. He’s also the founder of the nonprofit Voice of the Wetlands, which uses music to spread awareness about Louisiana’s coastal erosion issues. His most recent album, “I Hear Thunder,” was released last year. Benoit will bring that bayou sound to Menlo Park this week, with an opening set by roots rocker Damon Fowler, who hails from Florida’s gulf coast and has been compared to the likes of Duane Allman and Jeff Beck.

July 30, 8 p.m., The Guild Theatre, 949 El Camino Real, Menlo Park; $58-$151; guildtheatre.com.

Taylor Eigsti Quartet
Menlo Park-raised jazz piano virtuoso Taylor Eigsti won Grammy Awards for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album in 2022 and 2025 for his records “Tree Falls” and “Plot Armor,” respectively. In addition to jazz, he blends diverse influences including classical, hip-hop, rock and electronica to create adventurous sounds. An alumnus of the Stanford Jazz Workshop (and Woodside Priory High School), he’s back in his old stomping grounds as a faculty member and for a quartet concert at the Stanford Jazz Festival. At that performance, Eigsti is joined by Ben Wendel on saxophone, Harish Raghavan on bass and Nate Wood on drums.
