Mountain View police to hold public forum
The Mountain View Police Department and Public Safety Advisory Board are scheduled to host a forum about community policing from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on May 30 at Monta Loma Elementary School, 460 Thompson Ave.
According to the city, police will present on topics including local crime trends, preventing being a victim of crime and how the police department uses technology in its investigations.
Law enforcement technology has been a topic of discussion recently, as the police department looks to install automatic license plate cameras in Mountain View. Police argue it will assist with investigations and deter crime, but some have raised concerns about privacy rights.
The May 30 forum will include breakout sessions and a question and answer portion.
