As temperatures reach the high 80s, local families can return to Rengstorff Park’s activity pool Tuesday afternoon following recent repairs.
A leaky pump prompted the city to close the activity pool more than a week ago. It will now reopen for recreation swim from 2:30-5 p.m. July 21, the city announced Tuesday morning.
The adjacent lap pool remained open during the activity pool repairs, but experienced schedule changes. Recreation swim was also relocated to Eagle Park pool.
Activities and classes that were affected by the closure will now return to normal, the city said.
City staff identified the leaking pump during routine inspections July 7, city spokesperson Brian Babcock previously told the Voice. It was closed three days later.
The Rengstorff Park Aquatics Center reopened just over a year ago after major construction, totaling $29 million.
