Gov. Gavin Newsom has appointed two new judges to serve at the Santa Clara County Superior Court, his office announced Friday.
Jeremy Kroger and Bhanu Sadasivan are two of 14 judicial appointments made by Newsom across courts in California.
Kroger has served as a deputy public defender in the Santa Clara County Public Defender Office since 2014. He was an assistant federal defender at the Federal Defender Office for the Eastern District of California from 2009 to 2014. Kroger is a Democrat, according to Newsom’s office.
He is filling the vacancy created by the retirement of former Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge Cindy Hendrickson.
Sadasivan has been an attorney at McDermott Will and Schulte law firm since 2012. She attended University of California, Berkeley School of Law. She is an Independent, according to Newsom’s office.
She is filling the empty seat of former Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge JoAnne McCracken, who has retired.
