The three incumbents in the four-candidate race for the El Camino Healthcare District board are on track to keep their seats, according to early election results from the Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters.
Incumbent Dr. Carol Ann Somersille, an obstetrician and gynecologist, is in the lead with 34,537 (29.5%) votes, as of 4:48 p.m Thursday afternoon. Julia Miller, a longtime incumbent and former Sunnyvale Council member has picked up 33,329 (28.5%) votes. Incumbent John Zoglin, a digital marketing executive, is in third place with 30,311 (25.9%) votes.
Los Altos City Council member Lynette Lee Eng, the newcomer to the race, trails with 18,798 (16%) votes.
If reelected, the three incumbents will continue to oversee the tax funded district and serve on the nonprofit hospital’s board of directors. The district encompasses most of Mountain View, Los Altos and Los Altos Hills, as well as a large part of Sunnyvale and parts of Cupertino, Santa Clara and Palo Alto.
