Chinese restaurant Joyous Cuisine in downtown Mountain View will have its soft opening today, Feb. 26, said owner Xin You.
Joyous Cuisine will serve traditional Chinese food from the Guizhou province, You said. While no menu is posted online yet, Guizhou cuisine often features a mix of sour and spicy flavors. The restaurant will serve noodles, dumplings and buns, according to an employee.
The soft opening will last two to three days for dinner service only (5-9 p.m.) before its grand opening, at which point the hours will expand to 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, the employee said.
Joyous Cuisine does not yet have a website.
Joyous Cuisine is replacing Nori Nori Craft Handrolls, which opened last February. Since 2012, this location has been home to multiple eateries, including Barracuda Japanese Restaurant, K-Pop Korean, HoneyCreek, Shell Shock Restaurant, East Street Tacos (then Tapas), Chop & Pub, Crawfish Bros., Afuri Ramen + Dumpling, then Nori Nori. In previous decades, it was also Szechuan Garden.
