In honor of Asian/Pacific Islander Heritage Month, the city is sponsoring a celebration at Civic Center Plaza on Saturday, May 23.
The event is 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. and features more than eight different dance, music and demonstration acts, including taiko drummers and hula dancers.
There will be information booths from a variety of Asian cultures and “inspirational” speakers from the community, a press release says. Civic Center Plaza is located at 500 Castro Street.
