James Lambert rambled 61 yards on the first play from scrimmage and Gunn never looked back, beating host Yerba Buena 56-6 in a nonleague football game Friday night.

James Lambert raced 61 yards for a touchdown on the game’s first play from scrimmage.
Kevin Green took over most of the hefty lifting the rest of the way, scoring six touchdowns, one on an interception of a shuffle pass in the Yerba Buena backfield.
Filippi Montes also got into the act for the Titans (3-1), who open SCVAL El Camino Division play at home against Saratoga on Friday night.
Joaquim Bonnet made all eight of his PATs.
Carson Leclerc entered the game as quarterback late in the first half and continued the rest of the way.
“We talked about taking things one game at a time,” Gunn coach Jason Miller said. “We’ve got a tough league and it’s hard to go undefeated. We’re just concentrating on Saratoga and taking the bye week to get healthy.”
One of the highlights was defensive tackle David Hafoka carrying the ball when Gunn was running out the clock.
Cupertino 26, Woodside 19
Cupertino scored on an 82-yard pass play late in the game and then converted a two-point conversion to knock off the Wildcats (1-3), who open the PAL Lake Division season at San Mateo Friday night.
Quarterback Ben Shepard and receiver Maceo Latimer hooked up for a pair of touchdowns to give Woodside a 19-18 edge in the final quarter.
Marco Parodi scored on a 30-yard run to put the Wildcats up 7-2 in the second quarter.
Rafael Gonzalez recovered a fumble that led to Parodi’s scoring run.
Santa Clara 17, Los Altos 7
Junior Zach Fagin scored on a 96-yard pass play to tie the game by halftime but the Eagles were not able to overcome the host Bruins, who kicked a late field goal and then returned an interception for a touchdown.
Los Altos (1-2) opens SCVAL El Camino play at home against Fremont on Friday.
