On Saturday, Dec. 18, at 5 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 19, at 2 p.m., Bayer Ballet Company presents “A Winter Fairy Tale,” a holiday youth ballet done in the Russian style. The performances are at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, 500 Castro St. $30 general and $25 for seniors and kids ages 12 and under.
Music: Gryphon Carolers in Palo Alto
The 29th annual Gryphon Carolers and All-Stars Holiday Concert is set for 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, at Spangenberg Theatre, 780 Arastradero Road, Palo Alto. The 40-voice ensemble and backing band will perform a diverse mix of holiday music from various traditions and nations. Tickets are $15 general and $10 for seniors and children under 12.
Film: ‘Sun Valley Serenade’ at Stanford Theatre
The Palo Alto area may be lacking in snow and ice, but for the next few days (Dec. 18-20) the Stanford Theatre will host skiing and skating in the form of “Sun Valley Serenade,” a 1941 film starring Norwegian skating champ Sonja Henie. The theater is at 221 University Ave. in Palo Alto. Show times are 7:30 all three days, plus 4:10 on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $7 general and $5 for seniors and youth.
