Community: Tree-planting in Sylvan Park
Volunteers of all ages are invited to help plant trees at Mountain View’s Sylvan Park on Saturday, Jan. 22, from 10 a.m. to noon. No experience necessary; tools and refreshments will be provided. Sylvan Park, 550 Sylvan Ave., Mountain View. The event marks the fifth anniversary of Mountain View Trees. $15 donation suggested. Call Ray Morneau at at 650-450-6881.
Concert: Jewish Songwriters of Broadway
An evening featuring Broadway music from the likes of Rogers and Hammerstein, George Gershwin and more will take place Saturday, Jan. 22, at 8 p.m. at the Albert and Janet Schultz Cultural Arts Hall, 3921 Fabian Way, Palo Alto. Tickets are $20-$30.
The California Bach Society celebrates its 40th anniversary season with an all-Bach program of arias, duets and choruses Sunday, Jan. 23, at 4 p.m. at All Saints’ Episcopal Church, 555 Waverley Ave., Palo Alto. Tickets are $35.
