The Afro-Cuban jazz ensemble Pellejo Seco performs a free concert on Saturday, July 30, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. as part of the City of Palo Alto’s free Twilight Concert Series. The event is at Rinconada Park, 777 Embarcadero Road, Palo Alto.
The South Bay group Lyric Theatre performs the Edwardian musical “Our Miss Gibbs” on Saturday, July 30, at 8 p.m. and Sunday, July 31, at 2 p.m. at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, 500 Castro St. Tickets are $25.
This is the opening weekend for Stanford Summer Theater’s production of Seneca’s “Oedipus,” which is being performed at the Nitery Theater, Old Union, Stanford University. The script is a translation by the poet Ted Hughes, commissioned in 1968 for the Royal Shakespeare Company. $20 general,$15 for seniors and students.
