Here’s a list of Peninsula residents who have died recently:

George Abbott, 91, a resident of Menlo Park who was director of corporate internal audit for Hewlett-Packard Company for 25 years, enjoyed world travel and avidly supported Stanford University’s football and men’s basketball teams, on Feb. 9.

Marlene Anderson, 91, a resident of Menlo Park who was an avid tennis player, pianist, voracious reader, painter and crocheter and had a passion for social justice and women’s rights, on Feb. 24.

Noreen Eldredge, 98, a former resident of Woodside who ran her own company, NT Biochemical Services Inc., and also worked for MAST Immunosystems Inc., was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was an avid reader, boater, walker and world travel, on July 28.

Skip Light, 78, a former resident of Palo Alto and more recently Redwood Estates who worked first as a mental health professional, then as a construction superintendent and finally as a photographer and who was known for his sense of humor and love of cooking and baking for family and friends, on July 23.

Gerald W. Smith, 92, a resident of Atherton who was a counselor for more than 60 years, authored two books, led workshops for couples, had a talk show, “Talk It Over,” was an open-water swimmer and truly engaged with the people around him, on July 21.
