The Peninsula Open Space Trust announced on Tuesday it has named a new president.

Gordon Clark will succeed outgoing president Walter Moore, who has served as POST’s president for 15 years. Moore will retire on Jan. 22.

Clark joined the organization in 2007, where he focused on land acquisitions and fundraising. He was named senior director of development in 2016 and vice president of development in 2020.  Clark previously worked for land trusts in Maine and Alaska.

“POST has been a huge part of my life for so long. I feel a deep affinity and connection with this landscape, the communities we serve and our donors and supporters,” said Clark in a POST press release

POST, a nonprofit land trust in the Bay Area, was founded in 1977 and has preserved over 89,000 acres of land in San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Santa Cruz counties.

On Oct. 28, the nonprofit announced the purchase of the 1340-acre Pescadero Ranch in Santa Clary County for $15.65 million. Conservation of this area will provide environmental benefits for wildlife, clean water, and carbon sequestration, the nonprofit said in an October press release.
