Sydney Lowell scored six goals in helping Castilleja open the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League De Anza Division playoffs with an 18-6 win over Mountain View at Los Gatos on Tuesday.
Gabby Lewis added four goals, three assists and seven steals for Castilleja (17-8), which plays Gunn in Thursday’s semifinal round.
Sutchie Ofori-Nyako and Ella Debenham shared goalkeeping duties, combining for nine saves.
Talula Seale, Serafine Cortez, Janet Meng, Annika Burks, Anja Peterson and Samantha Solomon all contributed to the scoring.
Siham Arsalane scored five goals to help Gunn beat Los Altos 17-3. Maddy Yeung scored three times while Pooja Bucklin and Sawyer McKenna each added a pair.
McKenna added four assists and six steals, Bucklin had three assists and four steals and Kenza Ashworth made four steals, scored a goal and recorded an assist.
Elise Brougham, Francesca Argo, Adele Davis and Sophia Cho also reached the scoring column.
Menlo opened the WCAL playoffs with a 15-1 decision over Valley Christian.
The No.3 seeded Knights advance to play No. 2 St. Francis at 4 p.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Prep.
Menlo junior Erica Fenyo scored four goals, had an assist, and made three steals.
Senior Rusha Bhat posted four assists and two goals. Junior goalie Nyla Sharma made seven saves, and freshman Vivian Golub had four goals and a steal.
In the PAL Bay Division, Lucy Worden scored seven goals and Lizi Warren and Arianna Gerola each added three in Woodside’s 17-2 victory over Sequoia.
Menlo-Atherton topped Aragon 14-7.
Boys water polo
Andrew Mills scored eight goals on 11 shots and Woodside defeated Mills 15-4 in the regular season finale Tuesday.
Jake Anderson added three goals for the Wildcats (15-6, 8-2), who finished second in the PAL Bay Division behind Menlo-Atherton (19-5, 10-0), which beat Aragon 20-7.
In the WCAL playoffs, Valley Christian edged St. Francis 9-8.
In the SCVAL playoffs, Palo Alto beat Los Altos 9-8.
The CCS water polo seeding meeting will be held Sunday.
Girls tennis
Gunn won its Senior day match against Wilcox 7-0 in straight sets.
The Titans honored five seniors: Mahima Agrawal, Savana Chou, Elise Naddell, Stephanie Ng, and Bianca Pistaferri.
Gunn is 10-1 in league and finishes the regular on the road at Santa Clara with a chance to finish first in the SCVAL El Camino Division.
In the De Anza Division, Los Altos won its sixth straight, beating Palo Alto 5-2.
In the West Bay Athletic League, Menlo beat Castilleja 7-0 as Andra Braicu, Natalie Westermann, Charlotte Yao and Rupal Nimaiyar, who wrapped up the sweep in a tiebreaker, all picked up singles wins.
Natalie Dias, Sophie Frolik and Bennitt Shannon each won their singles as Sacred Heart Prep beat Notre Dame Belmont 6-1.
Menlo-Atherton completed an undefeated PAL Bay Division season with a 7-0 victory at home over Half Moon Bay as Mara Williams, Charlotte Ragozin, Sienna Aylaian and Jasmine Hou won their singles matches.
