Senior Bridget O’Keefe won the individual title and Palo Alto placed second at the Central Coast Section girls golf tournament Tuesday at the Laguna Seca Golf Ranch.
O’Keefe fired a round of 68, edging Castilleja freshman Norah Yang, who recorded a 69. The top eight finishers each recorded a round of 72 or better.

Palo Alto’s Sydney Sung and Los Altos’ Camille Thai matched rounds of 70 in helping both teams qualify for the NorCal tournament, to be held at Berkeley Country Club on Monday.
Valley Christian won the team title with a score of 372. Palo Alto followed with a 384, just ahead of Los Altos’ 385. St. Francis placed fifth, followed by Gunn in eighth, Castilleja in ninth, Mountain View in 11th and Menlo-Atherton in 15th.
Eagles’ player Sophia Thai also recorded a top-10 finish, shooting a 73 to match three others in ninth place.
Palo Alto also received a solid round from Lauren Sung, who placed 20th with a 77. Alexa Pineda, Meigan Lew and Allyson Lee also competed for the Vikings.
Maddie Woo was Los Altos’ third-leading scorer. She was followed by Grace Cai, Kara Chou and Angie Cheng.
St. Francis, who finished second to Valley Christian in the West Catholic Athletic League, was led by Kaila Tan, who shot a 76 and placed 17th overall. Kaitlyn Hahn led Mountain View with a round of 78 and a 24th place showing. M-A was led by Katie Spivakovsky with an 80 and Nathalie Benrey with an 81.
The top teams and individuals from NorCal will advance to the state tournament, to be held on the Poppy Hills Golf Course in Pebble Beach on Tuesday, Nov. 16.
Girls tennis
The Peninsula Athletic League individual tournament opened Tuesday, with Menlo-Atherton’s Ava Martin and Emma Williams advancing to Wednesday, each with a chance to win the league title.
M-A doubles teams of Franny Lukas and Calista Mille and Tessa Ellingson and Lilia Motamedi also advanced, as did Woodside’s tandem of Annabelle Bechtel and Carmen Betchel.
