Jake Skaggs recorded a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds and Los Altos beat Hillsdale, 55-42, in the semifinals of the Burlingame Lions Tournament on Thursday night.

Andrew Reilly added 12 points, Zach Fagin had 9 points and 9 rebounds and Shawn Toney scored 9.

The Eagles (4-1) meet host Burlingame (5-0) in Friday night’s tournament championship game.

Burlingame beat Stuart Hall 52-45 to reach the finals.

Los Altos edged Half Moon Bay 63-61 in the opening round as Skaggs scored 18 points.

Half Moon Bay led for most of the game. Reilly, who had 16 points in the game, hit a 3-pointer and later added a pair of free throws to give Los Altos a 50-48 lead.

The Eagles never trailed again, though the game was tied at 50 and 60. Fagin’s basket made it 62-60.

Fagin scored 11 against the Cougars and Varun Madabhushi added 10.

Priory (2-3) fell to Hillsdale 57-48 and then came back to beat Half Moon Bay 59-37 on Thursday. The Panthers will play for fifth place against league rival Menlo at 5 p.m. Friday.

Priory sophomore Steve Emeneke scored 16 points against Half Moon Bay. Rostand Olama Abanda added 15 and Oliver Conn had 11.

Olama Abanda and Emeneke combined for 24 points in the loss to Hillsdale.

Menlo (2-1) beat Aragon 56-44 to reach the fifth-place contest.

Menlo junior Lucas Vogel poured in 22 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and made three steals.

Daniel Solomon, a senior, scored 15, and had five rebounds, three assists and four steals. He and Vogel were a combined 12 of 15 from the free-throw line, and the team finished 15 of 19.

Will Murphy, also a senior, pulled down seven rebounds and junior Will Eggemeier had five rebounds and three assists.

Palo Alto (2-1) fell to Casa Grande (2-0) 45-42 in the first round of the Miramonte Matador Invitational.

Girls basketball

Gunn ran into a hot-shooting Prospect team and saw its three-game winning streak end with a 50-42 nonleague loss Thursday.

Carmel Tong scored 11 points in the first quarter as the Titans (3-1) played Prospect (5-0) even through the first half.

Beverly Lamis and Vallory Kuelker each scored nine points and Lamis added eight rebounds.

Gunn visits Notre Dame in Belmont for a nonleague game at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Menlo School raced to a 54-24 victory over host Terra Nova in the first round of the Jim Soden Tournament in Pacifica.

Priory fell to Burlingame 71-38 in another first-round game.

Carolina Espinosa, Amelie Giomi and Hannah Gorospe each scored as Menlo beat Cupertino 3-0 in a nonleague match at home Thursday.

Taylor Tam recorded a pair of assists for Menlo (3-2), which meets St. Francis at Fremont High on Saturday as part of the Firebird Classic.

Molly Tinsley scored twice and Sacred Heart Prep beat Carlmont 3-2 on Thursday.

Freshman Camy Sheldon also scored for the Gators (2-3), who won their second straight.

Megan Sweeney, McKenna Tanona and Kylie Ponterio each recorded an assist for Sacred Heart Prep, which meets Menlo-Atherton in the Firebird Classic at Fremont High, with a 1:15 p.m. start.
